One-Act Workshop Festival

Join us in celebrating a collection of theatre performances, presented by developing directors. Vote for your favourites, and join us for the gala award presentations evening at the conclusion of the week.

This June, Sidekick Players will be presenting a One Act Festival at The Tsawwassen Arts Centre (TAC).  This is a “festival” that Sidekick hopes will be an annual event where brand new directors will have the opportunity of putting together a short play for an audience.  It is an excellent opportunity for those that want to try directing, to “test the waters”.

There are two directors and two comedies!  Sidekick welcomes Lisa Gach and Taryn Kleeband to the “director’s chair”.   Lisa Gach will be directing The Whole Shebang, a comedy by Rich Orloff, and Taryn Kleeband will be directing Chester, You Owe My Bird an Apology, a comedy by John Lazarus.  Each play is approximately 45 minutes long and will run together for two nights.  During the run there will be People's Choice Awards, and on the final night, we will hand out some fun awards to the winners selected by the audience members.  Both plays will be in TAC on Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26 which will be followed by the People’s Choice Awards.
